In computers, a widget is an element of a graphical user interface that displays information or provides a specific way for a user to interact with the operating system and application . Widgets include icons, pull-down menus, buttons, selection boxes, progress indicators, on-off checkmarks, scroll bars, windows, window edges (that let you resize the window), toggle buttons, forms, and many other devices for displaying information and for inviting, accepting, and responding to user actions.

Twitter

This web page is about twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users' updates.

Updates are displayed on the user's profile page and delivered to other users who have signed up to receive them. The sender can restrict delivery to those in his or her circle of friends (delivery to everyone being the default). Users can receive updates via the Twitter website, SMS, RSS, email or through an application such as Twitterrific or Facebook.

Twitter has been used as a "social justice tool" to connect groups of people in critical situations.

Students are able to explore, communicate, analyze and share information and ideas with one another.
